Do you provide a warranty?
Yes. We provide a warranty on all new coatings and resurfacings. The length and extent of the warranty changes depending on the product and services that are being used for your job.
What makes epoxy floors superior to other types of flooring sealants?
The main thing that sets epoxy apart from other types of coatings, like paint, is that epoxy is harder and more resilient to impact and other possible damage. Epoxy is made up of two components. When these are combined it creates a very strong product that is extremely durable that has non-slip properties and is easy to clean.
What are the main benefits of epoxy flooring?
When you mix the two components of epoxy it causes a chemical reaction known as polymerisation. This creates a floor sealer that is known as 100% solids. This is far more resilient than other types of solvents and sealants on the market today. It is simple to maintain, resistant to chemicals, has non-slip properties and is incredibly durable.
What does ‘100% Solids’ mean?
100% solids is a reference to the percentage of solids in the coating. There’s no water or solvent base diluting your epoxy. It really is 100% solids. This is one of the things that makes epoxy so durable. While there is some product shrinkage associated with products that have a water base, you won’t have that issue with epoxy. This makes epoxy unbeatable when it comes to both resilience and adhesion.
Is it safe to use epoxy indoors?
There are next to no volatile, organic compounds contained in the epoxy flooring system that we use. The fumes from the epoxy flooring process are also completely safe. Because of this, our epoxy system can be safely used in garages and in other indoor locations.
Can epoxy be used over existing paints or coatings?
Unfortunately, we advise not to use epoxy on surfaces that already have been coated as this can cause a problem for the epoxy to properly bond that that surface. That being said it is possible to strip the previous floor coating back, it is then cleared and cleaned. After this process is complete it is possible to use an epoxy flooring system.
Can you use epoxy to repair holes or cracks within the surface of concrete?
Our epoxy products are known as self-levelling. That being said we use an epoxy resin paste to fill in any larger holes or cracks. We find this to be the best way to patch holes and cracks.
Is it possible to apply a non-slip finish to floors that have been coated with epoxy?
We can place a non-slip finish on your epoxy floors. We typically only apply this finish to floors that get very wet. This finish will make the floor rougher, but it will be extremely slip-resistant.
Can floors coated with epoxy be scratched?
Under the majority of circumstances your epoxy floor is extremely durable and should not scratch. That being said there is a small risk of scratches when very heavy objects are dragged across the floor.
Will sunshine impact my epoxy floor?
Ultraviolet radiation, which comes from sunlight, can cause the majority of coatings to fade. However, our epoxy floors have a UV protector applied to them, which means damage caused from sunshine is greatly reduced.
